Director
My name is Daniel Taulima. I was born and raised in Wellington and have proudly called Hawke’s Bay home for the past five years, where I live with my wife and children. My grandparents, of Tongan, Samoan, and Niuean descent, migrated from the Pacific Islands in search of better work opportunities. Their courage, sacrifice, and strong Christian faith, which has flowed onto me and my family, have kept us grounded and shaped the values I live by. Their example inspired my commitment to giving back to Pacific communities and supporting others to create meaningful opportunities.
With a professional background in Information Technology, I’ve always been driven by problem-solving and helping people. Over time, that purpose has evolved into a broader mission: supporting families, empowering communities, and building pathways to opportunity.

IronGate Recruitment is based in Napier, Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand, and we specialise in connecting hardworking men and women from across the Pacific with seasonal and long-term employment opportunities in our region. Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s largest horticulture areas, and we work closely with various orchards seeking reliable staff for roles such as fruit picking, packing, thinning, and general orchard labour.
